Daphne Crampton, secretary of the Friends of Christchurch City Libraries, officially launches the Smart View Reader with a cut of a pair of scissors.
A Smart View Reader in the Central City Library will enable people with low vision to use a new tool to improve their reading.

The reader was developed and produced by the Christchurch company, Pulse Data, which has an international reputation in the field.

The reader has a moveable reading table and big buttons but no keyboard. The machine, on the ground floor, magnifies and enhances print and pictures.

It is free to use.
