Consultation period extended on northern road network A proposed strategy for improving the road network of northern Christchurch has been released for public consultation. Due to public demand, the consultation period has been extended until 25 February 2002. A 16-page booklet, Towards a solution for northern Christchurch roading problems, which describes the preferred strategy in detail, is available from the Council’s Civic Offices, service centres and libraries, from Transit New Zealand, Environment Canterbury, and Waimakariri and Hurunui district councils, or here in PDF format. It is also available online from Transit’s website (www.transit.govt.nz). Four public open days and a meeting with interest groups, were held in November.
