City libraries' website updated Christchurch City Libraries has a new-look website - library.christchurch.org.nz The new site marks development of the original website that was launched in 1995 and was at the forefront of technology. Designed to take the library into homes, workplaces and schools, the new site is faster, more colourful and easier to use. Customers can access their accounts, check the books and other material they have on loan and find out when it's due back. Also they can check the library catalogue to see if the title they want is available. There are international newspapers on-line along with thousands of magazines. The launch of the site coincides with the introduction of many new electronic products, such as the Oxford Dictionary and encyclopaedias. They are free of charge and are available on the Internet to library members with a PIN. |
