Old phone books to be out before 10 August

Deliveries of the new Telecom telephone directories will begin so on — but recycling last year’s directories must be done by Friday, 10 August.

Old telephone books must be put out in the kerbside recycling collection or at refuse transfer stations by 10 August so that they can be sent to Asia to fill a specific order.

Separate from newspapers Instructions for recycling will be included with the new telephone directories.

These will say that the old books should be placed in a bag separate to newspapers and they should be in the recycling crate.

No more than two sets of books each household will be accepted for recycling, as the trucks can not handle more.

Larger volumes of books must be taken to recycling centres at the three refuse stations.

REMEMBER: Have the telephone books out before 10 August.
