A place for weddings
The public can use areas in the Botanic Gardens and various other parks and reserves
around the City for wedding ceremonies and photographs but you must book. |
|
Five areas in the Botanic Gardens are available for wedding ceremonies and photographs.
The areas are the Azalea and Magnolia Garden, the Cockayne Memorial Garden, the Pinetum,
the Daffodil Woodland, and the Bandsmen's Memorial Rotunda.
There are areas at Mona Vale and in Abberley Park, Avebury Park, Edmonds Factory Garden,
Millbrook Reserve, Risingholme and Woodham Park.
Weddings could also be held on the Port Hills, along the Coast, at Riccarton Bush or any
other reserve area.
Bookings are essential for both wedding and photos.
A fee applies for weddings but not to use an area for photos only.
An authorised marriage celebrant must conduct a wedding.
No vehicles are allowed in any of the reserves and no confetti can be thrown in them.
Bookings are made through the Leisure and Parks Customer Centre.
