Christchurch in 2010
Essay/Story Competition
Sponsored by the Christchurch Star and Christchurch City Council (through City Scene). Winning entries will be featured in The Star.
The Competition will run in two categories: under 14 (under 500 words) and adult writers (under 2000 words).
The work is to be a story or article on the theme of Christchurch in 2010.
- Work to be submitted by 20 September 2000
- There is no limit to the number of entries an individual may submit but each one must be accompanied by this copy of the rules.
- Entries may not be faxed or emailed. Entries may be emailed but an official entry form will need to be delivered to accompany the entry.
- (Adult) Work to be typed, double spaced on one side of the paper. All pages to be numbered and named.
- (Under 14) It is preferred if entries are typed but can be submitted handwritten provided the material is legible.
- (Under 14) Entries may be illustrated but the primary assessment will be on the basis of the written work.
- The submitted works will become the property of Christchurch City Council and the Christchurch Star which will decide whether to publish or not. No changes will be made to the essay/ story without the express permission of the author.
- The judges’ decision will be final. Entries should be submitted to: 'Christchurch in 2010' Christchurch City Council, Box 237, Christchurch.
