The Council is developing a policy on its
services for people with disabilities.
A series of questions will be circulated to
groups, people with disabilities, and to people
who care for or work with people with
disabilities, asking them how easy it is to access
Christchurch City Council services.
Margaret Macadam, who is co-ordinating
the policy, says discussion documents will
be available as brochures, on the website
and as audio cassettes to help people
make their views known.
"We really want
to work with relevant groups and as many
people with disabilities as possible to tell
us how we can better provide services, and
how we can ensure that the wider disability
community has input into the Council's
decision-making process."
Views are sought
this month (July) and next.
