Why I Love Christchurch I love casting my shadow on these flatlands. During the harsh winter months I ride the frozen waves of the Southern Alps, gazing down at the Pacific Ocean as my snowboard tracks down the virgin slopes. In spring, I immerse myself in the sea of scents and sights that lurk within the Botanic Gardens and in the madness that the Nor'west brings in on its scorched wings. The long, lazy days of summer find me loitering on the lush outfields of Canterbury's parks, seduced by leather on willow, and when autumn comes, if I haven't dashed through a drift of fallen leaves, some of my year has gone wanting. Canterbury is my home. D'Arcy Crispin Waldegrave, Radio DJ |
