Council Plan for City
The City Council is delivering a higher standard than ever before on basic services such as roads, rubbish, parks and water.
On 31 July the City Council met and passed the Christchurch City Council Plan: 1997 Edition which allocates the Council's budget for the year. The proposals in the Draft Plan were changed, based on submissions received. A fuller summary of what was in the Draft Plan was in the May City Scene.
Initiatives such as the new Bromley Treatment Plant upgrade, the social initiatives, redeveloping Cathedral Square and saving historic buildings were all in the plan.
