Rick Armstrong Motors Classical Sparks

Rick Armstrong Motors Classical Sparks1 March 2003, 7pm to 9pm, North Hagley Park

The highly anticipated SummerTimesTM finale returns with a full programme of popular classics, conducted by Marc Taddei and presented by the Christchurch Symphony – as always followed by breathtaking fireworks, and all performed in the beautiful setting of North Hagley Park.

Peter Mac and Hilary Muir compere this years programme, which includes music by Wagner and Tchaikovsky, with pieces ranging from favorites such as Ride of The Valkyries, and the 1812 Overture, to a beautiful rendition of ‘Summertime’ sung by Jennine Bailey. Acclaimed Baritone Paul Whelan returns to the festival, and Pandemonium will present percussive numbers by Stomp, and Blue Man Group. Spectacular fireworks will light up the sky from about 8.55pm.
