Our unique journeys to Christchurch
Christchurch is our home, Pacific Pathways tells the stories of how each of us came to be here, what we brought and what we created.
In 2007 the theme of Christchurch Heritage Week will be Pacific Pathways.
We will be celebrating the unique journeys that the various migrant groups have taken to make Christchurch their home and looking at the built and social history that they have created here.
Heritage Week will be filled with over 100 exciting and informative events from various groups around Christchurch including a Heritage Market Day in Victoria Square (the historical trading hub of Christchurch), Multi media projections on buildings around Christchurch, a Heritage Debate and Warner’s Heritage Quiz night.
In 2007 we will also be marking a very important Heritage Week as the 31st World Heritage Committee Meeting will be held in Christchurch from June 23rd June to 1st July 2007. The UNESCO meeting is expected to be attended by between 600 and 800 participants and observers from the 21 countries on the Committee and the other 178 state parties to the World Heritage Convention.
We hope you can join us to celebrate this special Heritage Week from the 22nd June to the 1st July 2007.
