Neighbourhood Week 2004
This year it will be held throughout New Zealand from Saturday 30 October – Friday 5 November
Keep Sunday 31 October free
The annual Children’s Day at The Groynes will again be a feature of Neighbourhood Week. This year’s event is being held on 31 October from 11am-3pm.
Last year around 5000 people attended the fun event which featured activities, kite flying, rock painting, face painting, a bouncy castle and train and boat rides.
Community groups are actively involved in fundraising and promoting healthy lifestyles on the day.
The free event is co-ordinated by the City Council and funded by the Shirley/Papanui Community Board It aims to encourage families to spend time together without worrying about cost.
