Broadoaks housing subdivision in Cashmere is a winner of one of the Christchurch City Councils environmental awards.
The subdivision won the built environment category from three other finalists, the Excelsior Hotel, the Theatre Royal, and the Canterbury Universitys mathematics department building.
The Summit Road Society won the services to the environment category and Riccarton Bush won the natural environment category.
The Councils awards were established last year by the environment committee and its chairwoman, Cr Anna Crighton, says they recognise and acknowledge the efforts of individuals and groups "who have gone an extra mile to ensure that our environment is maintained and preserved for future generations."
