New Parklands library

The concept design for a new library at Parklands will be available for the community to see when Council architect Crispin Schurr presents plans at a public meeting on Tuesday, 10 August.

The Council’s Community Libraries Manager, Nicki Moen, says the concept design shows a radical redevelopment of the former North Brighton Baptist Church, which was built in 1978.

A resource consent application for changes in land use at the site will be publicly notified this month.

  • The public meeting on Tuesday, 10 August, will be held from 7.30-8.30pm at 46 Queenspark Drive (the old church beside the shopping centre).
  • From 11 August, the plans will also be on the Council’s libraries website, at http://library.christchurch.org.nz/parklands/
