Learn to plan, run community event

Christchurch City Council is holding two seminars later this month about how to run a community event.

Both seminars are on Thursday, 20 November. The first runs from midday to 1.30pm, at the Council’s Papanui Service Centre on the corner of Langdons Road and Restell Street. The second seminar is from 5.30-7pm, in the boardroom of the Beckenham Service Centre, which is in the new South Christchurch Library complex on the corner of Colombo Street and Hunter Terrace.

Interested people from local groups who want to find out the what, why and how of successful community event planning and management are invited to attend. The seminars’ target is people from groups such as residents associations, churches, schools, sports clubs, youth groups, craft groups, fundraising groups or any organisation that may be involved in events.

The seminars’ content is identical. They are being offered at different times to ensure most people who want to take part can do so. The cost is $5 and each participant will get a comprehensive eventplanning manual.
