Sumner’s Shag Rock may be unstable
Signs have been put up by Environment Canterbury (ECan) warning people that Sumner Beach’s Shag Rock is prone to rock falls. The sea is eroding a weak rock layer, raising concerns that people may be at risk from falling rock. ECan says it will consult with the community in its work to identify an appropriate long-term solution. |
