Living it up in the East

More than 500 older adults turned out last month for the Over-50s Leisure for Life Expo at the Woolston Club. The event was funded by Christchurch City Council Leisure with support from the Council’s Hagley/Ferrymead Community Board and the Woolston Club.

Free health checks were a big drawcard and there was plenty of information about how to join up and maintain an active lifestyle. Linda Rutland, the Hagley/Ferrymead Community Board vice chairperson, opened the expo.

“We hope that by tasting a little or a lot of what the Expo has on offer today you may find one or two things that really hit the spot for you, which will spur you on or keep you on track for life-long health.”
