The Council is taking orders for Christchurch Garden City rose. They are $15 each, with the profits going to help the work of the Mayor’s Welfare Fund.

Just call on the main Council number, 941 8999, and we’ll let you know when to come and collect them.

The Council is getting the hybrid tea rose plants from Wanganui in shipments of about 200 each.

Another 1000 are expected in July. So far, about 1000 have been sold, many through the work of Woolston Brass Band members who report the plants are healthy and do well in local conditions.
