Recycling for Ronald

Collecting last year’s telephone books from businesses is helping to build the new South Island Ronald McDonald House. As a result of the effort, about 240 tonnes of old phone books were collected and together, Christchurch businesses, the Onyx collection team and the Recovered Materials Foundation have donated over $2000 to help build the new facility for seriously ill young people and their families.

The old phone books have been sent to the North Island to be recycled into an insulation product. Onyx staff collected the books in their own time.
