Art on the move

The partners in Real Recycling — Christchurch City Council, Onyx, Waimakariri District Council and Recovered Materials Foundation — want to get local artists moving. Six of the big Onyx recycling trucks are being turned into mobile galleries, each displaying two works of art on their sides.

The Real Recycling partners want to promote a positive attitude about recycling and a greater awareness of the benefits of kerbside recycling. They are looking for images that are lively, creative, inventive or funky rather than earnest instructional pieces. The programme is open to people over 13 years old. Pick up a form from the Civic Offices in Tuam Street or from Creative NZ’s display in the foyer of the Old Chemistry Building at The Arts Centre. Entries close on 10 October.
