Native Gardens Award 2003

Entries are invited for the third annual Native Gardens Award.

Christchurch City Council and the Canterbury Horticultural Society set up the award for outstanding gardens that represent and display New Zealand native plants and habitats in Christchurch. It aims to promote and encourage the use, benefits and presentation of native plants in an urban setting and to recognise gardens that demonstrate a notable contribution to Christchurch’s natural heritage and biodiversity.

These gardens will also contribute to the wider landscape and the city’s international reputation for diverse gardens.

The award is open to all private, business and community gardens within the Christchurch city boundaries which substantially comprise New Zealand native plants, or contain a native area, theme or aspect. Nominations close on 20 December and judging will take place in January.
