Real recycling made easy - Is your crate full, or over-full?
Having a crate full of recyclable items is great
but when it grows into a pile above the rim of the
crate, it becomes bad news for two reasons. First, gusts of wind can blow items around your
property and your neighbourhood. Second, the collection teams have a busy
schedule. They don’t have time to balance
overflowing crates from the kerbside to the truck
and that means items can get dropped. You can get more into your crate by flattening
plastic containers, squashing aluminium drink
cans.Also, flatten any box board (things like cereal
boxes and tea packets) and place them in a
shopping bag along with newspaper and other
papers and tying the handles. Don’t forget that all paper must be placed in
plastic shopping bags to keep it dry.
If you still don’t have enough space,you can collect
a second crate free of charge from the Civic Offices
in Tuam Street or from your local Service Centre. For more information about recycling,
