Bigger skateboard bowl for Templeton Domain

skateboard bowl for Templeton Domain
Christchurch City Council Parks and Waterways Advocate Rod Whearty and Council Community Recreation Adviser Jane Mulholland examine the draft plan for skateboard bowl extensions.
Extensions are to be made to the skateboard bowl in Templeton Domain.

Although the skateboard bowl was installed in 1999 it will be extended soon with a flat area around the bowl.

This action will follow the receipt of a petition from skateboarders saying they were desperately short of a flat area.

When the extension is installed the skaters will not use the adjacent tennis-basketball court.

Tennis net
A tennis net will be re-erected. Residents in the community have been consulted at all stages of upgrading the domain (a play area has also been installed) and the skaters are involved in the design of the skateboard bowl extensions.

The extensions, in draft form and subject to public feedback, include another grind rail and a fun box.
