List your own event bethere is an on-line database of events in Christchurch and Canterbury to which the public can now enter their own events by the click of a button. It is funded by the City Council and is free. It has two main functions: to offer information about events and a resource for event organisers to promote events. The web site - www.bethere.org.nz- averages 15,000 hits every month. There is also a subscription service where on every third Friday of the month an emailed copy of the events calendar is sent out. Simply click on "list event" to list an event and fill in the information and then click on "Register your event." To subscribe to the monthly calendar enter the site and click on "subscribe." Enter an email address and click on "Add me." The December issue of City Scene will include a special pullout calendar promoting events around the city over the summer period. This will go to every household in Christchurch. |
