Ferrymead Traffic Flowing More Smoothly
4 September 2008
Traffic is now flowing smoothly through the Ferry Road/Humphreys Drive intersection as the major roading project draws to a close.
“The intersection was redesigned and had traffic lights installed to improve safety, capacity and travel times, and to make better provision for pedestrians and cyclists,” according to Christchurch City Council Project Manager Peter Rivers.
The two diversions (Settlers Crescent and Tidal View) that were put in place to draw traffic away from the intersection while work was done on it have now been removed.
“Creation of traffic islands inside each of the Settlers Crescent entrances and other minor associated works are now being completed, and the whole project is expected to be completed within two weeks,” said Mr Rivers.
