Fair Time in Waltham!
19 March 2008
Waltham residents will be treated to a veritable feast of entertainment at the Waltham Urban Fair in the grounds of Waltham School on Friday 28 March.
Running from 3-6pm, the Waltham Urban Fair is a favourite for the local community, according to Spreydon/Heathcote Community Recreation Adviser, Loren Sampson. "From right across the community, it brings children, families and friends together to have fun," she says.
There will be a variety of entertainment on stage including Kapa Haka, Jump Jam, Kung Fu demonstrations, an Urban Idol competition plus much more. Have-a-go activities will include the A-Mac bungy, ice-skating, a bouncy castle, face painting, Maori tattoos and the Canterbury Baseball batting cage.
Community groups will be selling food and crafts as well as promoting the services they provide - making it a great opportunity to bring the family down for a fantastic afternoon of free fun!
If wet, the event will be postponed to Friday 4 April. Newstalk ZB will carry news of any weather changes
