Grab your board or skates and come along to Skate Jam 08

18 March 2008

Skate Jam is back this year - hitting Thomson Park on Sunday 30 March from 1-4pm.

Skaters and non skaters are all welcome at Thomson Park, Marine Parade, North New Brighton for an afternoon of free skating and blading action.

"The event kicks off at 1 pm, so come along and watch the pros from the Cheapskates demo team work their moves and pick up some tricks," says Community recreation Advisor Jacqui Miller.

There’s a competition at the end of the day, with registration on the day. Free skates and blades are available.

"If you’re not a skater, then kick back and enjoy the tunes from wicked local bands," says Jacqui.

Dave North, the designer of the Reefton Skate Park, will present concept designs for the proposed revamp of Thomson Skate Park.

The ZM crew will be pumping up the sounds and working the BBQ to keep everyone fuelled up and ready for action.

This event is supported by the Christchurch City Council Burwood/Pegasus Community Board, and co-ordinated by the Recreation and Sports Unit.
