Garden Gala for older adults

Next month’s Garden Gala at Riccarton House will be a showcase of entertainment, arts and crafts and other activities for older adults.
On Thursday, 14 February, from 11am to 3pm, the Garden Gala is a free social afternoon at which participants can have-a-go at Tai Chi, gentle exercise, floral arts and cake decorating.
Free entertainment will be provided by a variety of groups, including the 50s Up brass band, St Teresa’s School choir, Hepcat Swing dance group and junior dancers from Dance Sport Canterbury.
The Garden Gala is also a chance to meander through Riccarton House and its grounds; tours of the restored homestead being at 11.30am and 1.30pm for a $3 donation.
Parking is available on the southern lawn of Riccarton House grounds; entry to the car parking area is off Riccarton House’s driveway. If postponed due to bad weather, the Gala will be held on Friday, 15 February.
