Results of September residents survey shows satisfaction levels still high

The results of the Christchurch City Council’s latest residents survey shows satisfaction with the Council’s provision of services remain high.

The results of the biannual survey have been consistent for several years, and that trend continues in the September survey. In the latest results 76 percent of residents are either satisfied or very satisfied with Council services.

 

Some of the areas where residents continue to feel the Council is performing very well are the taste of water, the Botanic Gardens, larger reserves and open areas, and events and festival, which all continue to consistently get high satisfaction ratings.

 

Areas where residents would like to see the Council make further improvements include rubbish collection, road congestion and conditions, and development of parks, recreational areas and waterways.

 

Many of the results are only very marginally different from previous surveys, but two areas which did see a positive increase in satisfaction levels were planning and managing growth of the central city, and look and feel of the central city. The number of people satisfied or very satisfied with the planning and management of growth in the central city increased from 41% in September 2007 to 46% in September this year. In the same period those satisfied or very satisfied with the look and feel of the central city increased from 52% to 59%.
