Christchurch City Council’s Public Affairs Group change decision announced

The Public Affairs Group (PAG) change decision was announced to staff on Friday 30 March.
A matrix structure has been adopted, but with additional resources provided to in the communications area. The main features of the decision are as follows:
· Four new Public Affairs Manager positions will be established. These positions will be the single point of contact for the business groups for accessing and prioritising Public Affairs shared services.
· A new Consultation Unit will be established that will report to the General Manager PAG. The primary focus of the unit will be to provide innovative and best practice advice across the Council.
· The Communications and Consultation Unit will be renamed the Communications Unit.
· The new structure which affects Council’s Communications and Marketing teams are full-time-equivalent-neutral.
