New General Manager Corporate Services Appointed

Christchurch City Council has appointed Paul Anderson as the new General Manager Corporate Services.
Mr Anderson, replaces Roy Baker who left last week to take up a position with Housing New Zealand.
Council Chief Executive Tony Marryatt announced the appointment to staff today. He said that Mr Anderson has worked for Telecom Corporation of New Zealand for the past eight years. His roles have included Manager, Retail Data Provisioning, Head of Commercial and Finance and Manager of Performance Management and Reporting.
Paul was brought up in Christchurch, attended St Bedes College and the University of Canterbury from where he graduated with a Master of Commerce in Accountancy with First Class Honours A member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand since 1997, his first position was with Treasury in Wellington before he travelled overseas where he worked for two years with Natwest Global Financial Markets in London.
"We are extremely fortunate to have been able to appoint such a well qualified and experienced candidate from the commercial sector to this key financial role at Council," Mr Marryatt said.
Mr Anderson said he was looking forward to his new role at Council. "This is a key role in an organisation that is recognised throughout the country as a leader in local government," he said.
