Draft 10-year community plan available for public feedback
27 March 2006
Christchurch City Council’s draft of its 10-year community plan will be available from tomorrow (Tuesday) for public feedback.
Copies of the full draft plan, Christchurch O-Tautahi 2006 to ’16, and a 24-page summary will be available at Council service centres and libraries. It can also be viewed on the web, at www.ccc.govt.nz
The Council’s monthly residents’ newsletter, City Scene, also includes information about the draft plan. It is being distributed to households throughout the city and peninsula on Friday (31 March).
People and organisations interested in letting the Council know what they think of the plan have until Friday, 5 May to return a submission. City councillors will hold hearings later in May and people who want to speak at one of these meetings can indicate that on the submission forms available with the documents and on the website.
The Council’s Our City O-Tautahi facility – the former visitors’ centre on the corner of Worcester Street and Oxford Terrace – is another place where people can learn more about the draft plan and make a submission.
Christchurch Mayor Garry Moore says he and fellow councillors welcome people’s input.
