The Great Kids Campout coming to a park near you

For those that have not been able to take the kids away for a camping trip these holidays, all is not lost because the Great Kids Campout is happening around the City’s parks from 18-21 January.

The SummerTimes event, held overnight at four Council parks, allows families the opportunity to experience a night out camping without having to travel out of town.

Each of the four events, held at Hansen Park (18 January), Halswell Domain (19 January), Elmwood Park (20 January) and South New Brighton Park (21 January), will include outdoor games and activities and have a traditional sing-along around a camp fire. Families will then be treated to a hot drink before retiring to their tents for the evening.

Groups need to bring their own dinner and tent; there are a limited number of tents available on the day.

**Registrations are required for the event by 11 January and can be made by phoning 941 8888.
