SummerTimes goes local this week

Three SummerTimes events, Garden Gala, Barrington Big Fun and Avice Hill Arts & Craft Fair, take place this in the community this week.

On Thursday between 11am-3pm, Garden Gala (supported by Riccarton/Wigram Community Board) is an opportunity for senior citizens to get together at Riccarton House for a free day of fun, entertainment and a variety of have-a-go leisure activities.

Avice Hill Arts &Craft Fair (supported by Fendalton/Waimairi) happens this Sunday from 11am. The day, at Avice Hill Reserve on Memorial Ave, is an opportunity to purchase local-made crafts, and as well, free have-a-go workshops including Oamaru stone carving, jewellery making and raku pot firing, will be on site.

Sunday at 12pm also sees the annual Barrington Big Fun community event (supported by Spreydon Heathcote Community Board) at Barrington Park. This event is a great carnival atmosphere for families to get together and enjoy face-painting, kite making and much more.
