Network plans massive beach cleanup

Help keep our beaches beautiful by joining one of the beach cleanups, organised by Pegasus Bay Coastcare Network, on Sunday 26 February, 10am – 12noon.
Christchurch City Council coastal rangers will be assisting with the cleanup along New Brighton beaches, which starts at 10am from the car park just south of New Brighton library. The rangers will provide 4WD assistance to collect rubbish.
Cleanups will also be held on the same day at North Canterbury beaches. Volunteers are to meet at the following locations at 10am:
Amberley Beach: beach car park
Leithfield Beach: northern car park
Waikuku Beach: Surf Club
Woodend Beach: beach Car park
The Pegasus Bay Coastcare Network is a joint initiative involving Hurunui District Council, Waimakariri District Council, Environment Canterbury, the Department of Conservation and Christchurch City Council. It was formed as a liaison group to promote Pegasus Bay as a unified area and to keep member groups up-to-date with activities in the Bay.
