Councillors give staff go-ahead on Cycling Strategy
19 December 2006
Councillors today completed the second part of a cycling workshop to review proposed cycling projects planned over the next three years.
The workshop was held so staff could seek feedback from Councillors about any concerns they may have about the implementation of the Council’s Cycling Strategy.
The outcome ensures the Cycling Strategy will continue to be implemented.
“Following the workshop, Council staff now have a feel for Councillor issues and will take these into consideration when preparing any Council reports,” Council GM City Environment Jane Parfitt said.
Councillor Wells, who chaired the meeting, said she was “very pleased there was now a way forward, and that problems encountered in the past were now being addressed for the benefit of both cyclists and motorists.”
