Major traffic delays expected on the corner of Moorhouse and Montreal
24 August 2006
A large hole that has formed in the road at the intersection of Moorhouse Avenue and Montreal Street is thought to have been caused by a failed sewer or stormwater pipe, although the exact cause is not yet known.
As a result of the hole there will be major disruption to the traffic flow as the two east-bound lanes on Moorhouse Avenue, as well as the left turning lane, have been closed for work to proceed that will rectify the problem. This will leave only one east bound lane and the right turn lane open.
It is likely the lanes will remain closed overnight and into tomorrow.
Please advise that travelling in this area should be avoided as long delays are inevitable.
