Proposed Council stormwater works in Sumner

Residents and visitors to Sumner may experience some inconvenience over the next few months as a new stormwater pipeline to prevent flooding is installed.

The Christchurch City Council is planning to upgrade the stormwater pipeline along the western side of Wakefield Avenue from Burgess Street through to Nayland Street, linking up with works currently under construction in Nayland Street.

 Work is  currently being tendered and is expected to begin in mid September and be completed by early November.

Residents will be informed before work begins and project notices are available on the council website.
