Recreation tracks forced to close for at least two weeks
11 August 2006
High rainfall during the week has forced the closure of all recreation tracks in the Bowenvale Valley area as well as the Marley’s Hill to Victoria Park track. These tracks will remain closed for at least two weeks as stabilisation work is undertaken.
The tracks are closed because of slips, fallen trees and muddy track conditions which have made them hazardous. Use of the tracks in their current condition would also contribute to further damage, erosion and sediment run-off into the valley stream.
The closures will be lifted when the tracks have drained excess water and trees and slips have been cleared.
All entrance and exit points are clearly marked indicating closures and the reasons why. This signage will be removed once the tracks are reopened.
Once the tracks have reopened, the public is asked to please avoid using them in wet conditions.
