Canterbury’s top 20 books have now been found – time to find a winner

With the top 20 books in Canterbury now found, a new search begins today (Saturday, 5 August) as the What’s Your Favourite? initiative moves into round two of voting to find the region’s favourite book.
Canterbury’s readers and book lovers voted for hundreds of books in round one of voting which opened on 15 July.
Canterbury’s favourite book will be announced on Saturday, 9 September during The Press Christchurch Writers’ Festival 2006 and will be posted on the What's Your Favourite? website.
What’s Your Favourite? has evolved into a Canterbury-wide event, with Christchurch City Libraries working to get its library colleagues in Waimakariri, Selwyn, Ashburton and Timaru districts and their customers to participate.
What’s Your Favourite’s? Top 20books in no particular order: The Time Traveler’s Wife, Angela’s Ashes, The Power of One, Wuthering Heights, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, Pride and Prejudice, The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe, The Bible, The Bronze Horseman, Pillars of the Earth, Cross Stitch, Jane Eyre, The Da Vinci Code, The Goat Hunter, To Kill a Mocking Bird and The Hobbit.
