Registrations of Interest close for ocean outfall
27 September 2005
The time for receiving registrations of interest (ROI) from contractors to build the Christchurch City Council’s ocean outfall closed on Wednesday, 21 September, at midday.
A good response was received by the Council from local and international contractors to build the multi-million-dollar pipeline, aimed to remove the city’s treated wastewater discharge from the Avon-Heathcote Estuary.
Council Project Delivery team leader, John Moore, says that of the several contractor responses received, many specialise in varied methods of pipeline installation.
An evaluation team made up of Council staff and independent consultants would assess all the ROIs, draw up a short-list of selected tenderers by early November, and enter a more detailed interactive tender process with those selected contractors thereafter, Mr Moore says.
