Picture this -- Canterbury rugby at Our City O-Tautahi

Rugby touches the lives of many Cantabrians and a photography exhibition opening on Monday at Our City O-Tautahi explores the code’s place in local life.

Prue Thornton, Richard Simmonds, Alison Bold, Karen Talbot and Jane Coulter are photographers who call their group the Tight Five. This year they have been documenting rugby’s role in local life and their images cover the spectrum of local rugby, from pre-schoolers to senior grades, from junior club days to senior club finals.

The exhibition captures emotions and action on and off the field - the parents, the coaches, the referees, the volunteers and of course the players.

This free exhibition runs from 19 September-1 October. Our City O-Tautahi (in the old Provincial Chambers building) is the City Council facility on the corner of Oxford Terrace and Worcester Boulevard.
