Five companies proceed to tender for Ocean Outfall
10 November 2005
Five companies have been short-listed to proceed to the tender stage for the construction of the ocean outfall pipeline, following a Registration of Interest and selection process.
“There is a good mix of overseas and local companies which can provide expertise in both dig and lay (conventional pipe laying) and micro-tunnelling technology (using a tunnel boring machine),” says John Moore, the Project Delivery Team Leader. “I’m confident we’ll have a suitable company on board by the end of the tender process.”
Design and tender documentation should be completed by mid-February 2006. An interactive tender process will follow which will involve the five companies, and include site visits, discussion of the options, and a review of the documentation.
The final tender documentation is expected to be completed and issued for tender at the end of March 2006.
