Aranui update for local residents
11 July 2005
Aranui residents can get the latest update on what’s happening in their community at the regular Aranui Community Get-together on Wednesday 13 July.
It’s a time to catch up with other local people over a cuppa and a bite to eat, with a chance to ‘have your say’, and hear a round-up of news from community groups and organisations. Everyone who attends will also go in a free draw to win a mystery prize.
The Get-together will run from 6 to 7.30pm at the Wainoni/Aranui Community Centre, Hampshire St, and is open to everyone living in Aranui. Refreshments will be provided free of charge, and people can just turn up on the night.
The event is run every two months by Aranui Community Renewal, a partnership between the Aranui community, Christchurch City Council and Housing New Zealand Corporation.
The renewal project aims to enhance Aranui as a great place to live, improving the local environment, empowering residents and tackling important community issues including safety, housing and local amenities.
For further information contact Rachael Fonotia, Aranui Community Trust Project Coordinator on 963 7072.
