Family Fishing Day on again at New Brighton -- Saturday, 5 March
23 February 2005
Calling all children. Find a fishing rod, organise some bait and get your family ready for Christchurch City Council’s annual Family Fishing Day.
This free event takes place on Saturday, 5 March from 2-4pm, on the Avon River at Owles Terrace, downstream from the New Brighton bridge. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
As well as fishing, there will be a free sausage sizzle, face painting and spot prizes to be won, including a fishing rod. If wet this event will be cancelled (notices on 91ZM and Newstalk ZB).
Each year Family Fishing Day has been growing in popularity. It is an ideal opportunity for people to take part in a free, fun community activity.
Family Fishing Day is funded by the City Council’s Burwood/Pegasus Community Board and run in partnership with Powerhouse Youth Ministries.
