Planning for the future of Christchurch cemeteries and crematoria

The public is being invited to comment on the future provision of Christchurch’s cemetery and crematoria services.

Christchurch City Council is assessing these services under the Local Government Act 2002 and is gathering all the information it can to plan for the future.

The assessments are focussed on ensuring that public health will continue to be protected and that services are able to meet future demands.

Public comment is being sought on all issues associated with the provision of cemeteries and crematoria services including the protection of public health.

When the Council’s assessments have been completed, a plan will be made available for public comment, early next year.

Submissions may be made by sending letters freepost to CCC Cemetery Services Assessment, C/- Jill Gordon, Christchurch City Council, P.O.Box 237, Christchurch.
