Christchurch Sport and Recreation Guide for winter out now
10 March 2004
Getting fit and staying active this winter will be helped with the release of a new edition of the Mizone Christchurch Sport and Recreation Guide, now available free at outlets throughout the city.
The guide is designed by the Christchurch City Council to encourage people of all ages to be active, and provides information on a wide range of sporting and recreational opportunities. “There’s something in the guide for everyone,” says Chris Wallace of the Council’s Sports Promotions Team. “Our aim is to make it easier for people to get active by giving them as many options as possible.”
The Mizone Christchurch Sport and Recreation Guide is produced twice a year by the Council. Some 35,000 copies have been printed of this, the 7th edition. They are available free to anyone with an interest in sport and recreation in Christchurch this winter. One of the popular features of the 56-page guide is a fold-out map of Christchurch sports grounds.
The latest guide, covering the period from this month until September this year, has some new features included as a result of feedback and research. Among the improvements is a section highlighting sport and recreation opportunities for people with disabilities.
The Mizone Christchurch Sport and Recreation Guide is available free from all CCC libraries, facilities and service centres and from most sporting retailers, recreation providers, secondary schools and sports associations, or by phoning 941 6840.
