Friday lunchtime concert the entrée for weekend events

Tomorrow’s lunchtime concert features Ruia Aperehama, composer of What’s the Time Mr Wolf? The festivities in Cathedral Square continue on Saturday with the Ngai Tahu Whiri Festival, a celebration of Matariki (Maori New Year). It begins at 10am and concludes with fireworks at 6pm.
Meanwhile, at 9am on Saturday, Christchurch City Council staff will keep the entertainment going at the Christchurch Town Hall for people waiting to snap up the first tickets for events in the TV2 KidsFest, which runs 3-16 July.
