South Learning Centre opens next Tuesday

Reporters and photographers are cordially invited to attend the official opening of the new South Learning Centre on Tuesday 9 September at 6.15pm.

Rt Hon Helen Clark, Prime Minister will officially open the building. Christchurch Mayor Garry Moore will also give an address. During the official opening, students from the South Christchurch area will interview the Prime Minister and guests to produce electronic records of what happened on the day. This will provide the children with their first opportunity to integrate the Centre’s technology and will produce a record of the opening events.

The opening will start with a cultural item, after which the Prime Minister will look through the facility and chat with children and sponsors.

South Christchurch Library and red café, which are in the same complex, will be open until 7pm. South Christchurch Library and Service Centre were opened on Saturday 23 August by Christchurch Mayor Garry Moore.
