Replanting plan drawn up for South Brighton Domain
12 May 2003
South Brighton residents are invited to comment on the Council’s
proposed replanting plan for the South Brighton motor camp and
the adjacent part of the domain.
An open evening will be held on Tuesday
27 May at 7 pm – 9.30
pm, at the South Brighton Community Centre in Beatty Street. Council
staff will be on hand to meet with local people, to discuss the
plan and receive feedback
on how residents would like the area replanted.
The consultation
period will run from 19 May until 9 June. In mid May, copies
of the proposed plan will be delivered to houses in
South Brighton from Bridge Street down to the end of the spit.
Other copies and feedback
forms will be available from the New Brighton Library, Shirley
Service Centre and Civic Offices.
Around 220 pine and macrocarpa
trees were felled in the domain last month, for health and safety
reasons.
